The new IUC-4100 UltraSmart® Dog fence In-Ground Pet Fencing System has nine levels of correction, a tone option, and a range up to 400 yards. Like the training collars, this containment system has a collar that is guaranteed to fit your dog, the 3-way battery indicator, and the self-diagnostic tool. Progressive Correction – Run Through Prevention
For years Innotek ® has led the pack with advanced products, featuring innovations which consumers are looking for. Within the fast growing area of pet containment, Innotek ® offers progressive stimulation and patented run – through – prevention. These innovations allow for the system to intuitively respond to the size (small – large) and temperament (docile – stubborn) of any dog. This provides the correct level of correction needed to contain that individual dog. With progressive correction, these systems go even further! They provide an increasing level of stimulation as the dog gets closer to the dog fencing boundary wire. The advanced digital electronics of the receiver dog collar calculate not only the distance from the fencing wire, but the speed with which the dog is approaching the dog fencing boundary wire. The system responds by providing an increased correction level to prevent the dog from leaving the pet containment area.
"Zones ® " is an indoor system that can be used to keep your dog away from places that it just shouldn't be. The ZND-1200 is an instant pet barrier. Put the cordless disc near the garbage or the counter to let the dog know that the area is off limits. A zone's diameter can range from two to 12 feet; when your dog gets too close to the zone, the dog collar emits a warning beep. If the dog continues into the area, it will receive a mild correction. Correction from the dog collar will get more intense as the dog gets closer to the boundary.

The initial cost of a fence is less than that of traditional fences. Maintenance of an underground pet fence is also less expensive. A dog fence will not need to be painted and boards will never need to be replaced. You will never have to worry about it rusting or being attacked by termites.

A single fence can be used to contain one or more dogs. Dogs using one of these systems must wear corresponding collars to ensure appropriate correction. This means that neighbors can set up one large containment area to keep several dogs safe. Using it this way will guarantee social interaction as well as a well-exercised dog. Now that you know the advantages, let's find out how it works. One type of electric fence system uses buried wire, another doesn't. Both of these systems work the same way to provide safe and effective containment.Both types of PetSafe ® Electric dog fences use a transmitter to emit a radio signal that is communicated to the dog's electronic collar. The wire is like an antenna; it receives the signal from the transmitter and sends it to the collar to provide correction. Since the Pet safe wireless fence doesn't have wire, the signal travels from the transmitter directly to the dog's collar. When the dog gets too close to the boundary of the unit, it will receive a mild correction that intensifies if the dog continues toward the boundary. When the dog retreats to the safety zone, the correction will stop.
The fences that use wire are stationary, but a wireless
PetSafe ® dog fence is portable. The transmitters that come with both types of fence plug into a standard outlet, but the wireless units can also be plugged into a cigarette lighter outlet in a car, boat, or RV, which makes these PetSafe ® dog fence units entirely transportable. Because there aren't any wires, the wireless models can easily be taken to the beach, camping, or to a friend's house.
Training your dog to use it usually takes about two weeks. Training may take longer; don't be discouraged if your dog needs additional training after two weeks. The most important thing is to teach your dog where the boundaries of the fence are and that it shouldn't cross the boundaries for any reason. Pet containment systems come with boundary flags so you and the dog both know where the perimeter is. After your dog is completely trained to use the fence, all the boundary flags can be removed and the fence will be completely invisible. Indoor wireless fences are also available. An indoor fence does not require any training. All you have to do is set up the range on the transmitter and put it in a dry out-of-the-way place and put the electronic collar on your dog. With an indoor unit, you can keep your dog out of the garbage or away from the food supply. An indoor PetSafe dog fence provides the same type of electronic correction as outdoor systems.
They are completely safe for people and dogs. The electronic stimulation from a correction fence is mild, like the feeling you get after sliding your feet on carpet and then touching a doorknob. It's an annoying feeling, but not a harmful one. Only the dog, or dogs, wearing the electronic collar will be corrected for crossing the boundary of the fence. This means that you and your family, the mailman, and other pets will be able to move around freely without worries.
